Aronette Schneck Art Scholarship

The Highlands Art League was founding in 1967 by a small group of dedicated citizens lead by Aronette Schneck. Ms. Schneck would be pleased that so many promising art students have been able to continue their education because of this award.

Each spring the Highlands Art League awards this $500.00 Scholarship to an outstanding Highlands County graduating senior art student. The award will be sent to the Registrar of the college the winning student chooses to attend.

South Florida Community College Foundation, Inc. has been kind enough to award a matching scholarship for $500.00 provided that the award winner attends South Florida Community College. This match brings the total scholarship to $1,000.00

To apply for this $500.00 scholarship you must:

• Be a graduating senior planning to major or minor in art. Fine Arts, commercial art, art education, photography, or any area of the visual arts.
• Present your portfolio with a minimum of 5 and maximum of 15 pieces to our judges.
• Give a 10 to 15 minute oral presentation. If the student has a conflict with the oral presentation dates/times for illness or work related activities, arrangements will be made to accommodate the student.
• Present 2-dimensional artwork either matted or framed.
